The Company:
Leading manufacturer of retail ice merchandising equipment and walk-in coolers.
The Challenge:
Convert production process equipment from old material processing to new. The project required the design and manufacturing of advanced production machines that replaced processing of aluminum raw materials on production lines. Each machine is to integrate with the current production lines, be easy to use, and meet all OSHA safety requirements.
The first machine would automate a clearance punch operation into different length parts. The second machine would automate drilling operations on 2 different axis for different sized sub-assemblies. Chuka-chuka single piece loading and hanedashi automatic unload method of finished parts were used in the designs.
The Solution:
- Designed and manufactured multiple advanced manufacturing machines by collaborating with company engineers and managers.
- The final solutions used a practical engineering approach by collectively understanding the needs of the customer and the current production line processes.
- The RDR Services successful project implementation improved the safety, efficiency, and costs of manufacturing for the customer.
RDR Services used Solid Works 3D Solid Modeling application to synthesize concept and machine features for review and final approval by customer.
RDR Services turned concept into reality and once design concept was approved, implemented the manufacturing and testing program.
Customer participated in final build, test, and approval to project completion.
